Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Review — B+

A bunch of losers fail at life.

What a fun anime. There’s nothing I enjoy more than looking down at other people and laughing at them for being such miserable failures. So this anime is perfect for me. It reminds me a lot of Milky Holmes, one of my favorite anime of all time.

The show starts with our heroes being transported to a fantasy world, where they have to defeat the demon king to go home. They quickly end up in debt and start living in a stall in a stable. That probably gives you an idea for how this is.

What makes the show is Aqua. She’s a goddess, and all she’s good at is stupid magic tricks. What a pathetic, pathetic person. Although she has some good competition with the other characters who are also miserable failures. The lead male is actually somewhat competent, but he makes up for it by being a selfish asshole. My favorite character is Megumi: I especially enjoyed that episode about her going to the bathroom.

I’ve heard people say that the jokes became repetitive in the second season. Maybe they were, but I was still laughing every time, so I was fine with it.

  • Storytelling – B – Great jokes and sense of humor.
  • Voice – A – So pathetic.
  • Characters – A – What pathetic losers.
  • Attention Grab – B – Kept my attention.
  • Production – B – It looks ok. Great voice acting.
  • Overall – B+
