A bit late on this, as usual. Sorry. (But not really.)

Shorts: Don’t know, don’t care.
Been dropping more than I used to lately. It’s great. Have way more time to do things I like. And there seem to be a ton of series from this season continuing into the next.
19. Infinite Stratos 2 — F
Generic harem snorefest.
18. Walkure Romanze — F
All the horny horses weren’t enough to make this show any good.
17. Galilei Donna — D-
Galileo Galileo~~~ He invented the telescope, airplane, time travel, and japanese candy, and fell in love with his great great granddaughter and wrote crappy poetry.
16. Strike the Blood — Ongoing
Bad harem fantasy. But hey, I’m a sucker for this kind of thing.
15. Tokyo Ravens — Ongoing
Went way downhill since the first episode into stupid harem hijinks. Oh well, still has crazy twintails… And crossdressing Natsume…
14. Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio— Ars Nova — C-
Ship them ships! Kind of a waste, with the loli and all this “feelings” crap.
13. Yowamushi Pedal — Ongoing
Good show, but as expected, it’s moving extremely slowly.
12. Hunter X Hunter — Ongoing
Don’t really care for this North Korea arc. Too much focus on characters I don’t care about. Where are Kurapika and Leorio?!!
11. Golden Time — Ongoing
The amnesia / ghost Banri thing is retarded. Otherwise some good drama. But none of these people should be in a relationship.
10. Kyoukai no Kanata — C
Looks gorgeous. The story was not that interesting though.
9. Nagi no Asukara — Ongoing
So much DRAMAZ. Pretty good stuff though. Except Manaka kind of pisses me off.
8. Log Horizon — Ongoing
I really want to like this show. But it moves so slowly… And way too much adjustment of glasses. They need to get back to fighting things.
7. White Album 2 — C+
One of the best love triangles in recent memory. They seem to have fallen out of favor.
6. Gingitsune — B-
Cute and peaceful, while avoiding being boring.
5. Outbreak Company — B-
Hilarious at times, while also being very self-aware.
4. NouKome — B-
Pretty darn funny.
3. Samurai Flamenco — Ongoing
Hero will never give up, never hide, never be defeated, never accept evil.
2. Kill la Kill — Ongoing
FABULOUSNESS.
1. VALVRAVE — Beyond 666
POSSIBILITY.
What are your thoughts on the last season? Feel welcome to share in the comments!
“Don’t really care for this North Korea arc. Too much focus on characters I don’t care about. Where are Kurapika and Leorio?!!”
You gotta learn to open up to the new fellas brah. KP and LR are neat and all, but they’ve got their own shit to deal with I’m sure. They won’t be around for a long while.
Yeah I guess. I don’t really even care about Leorio and Kurapika themselves, either. Just I find it hard to care about these old guys and their fights. My favorite part lately has been the shougi (not shougi but whatever it’s called) matches with the drooling girl.

good dodge

Kyousogiga
aww
Could not stand the OVA. Some things just grate on me the wrong way…
I liked virtually all the ones you did, but I also loved Unbreakable Machine Doll and Yuushibu. Surprised you didn’t find Yuushibu Classy 🙂 UMD had loli’s fighting tea & cake eating dragons, beserker wolves and giant transformer swords.
StB executed conversation flow solidly. Go from serious to ecchi comedy to serious again in two seconds flat, and done smoothly. That takes real talent.
Kyousogiga was beautiful, but I could only handle small bites. I had a love/hate relationship with it, but still worth watching.
Gundam build fighters is more light of heart, but chocked full of callback references. I seriously hate the standard ‘drama’ based Gundam shows, but loved G Gundam. This is more in the middle, mostly fun, has cracks, but also drama undertone (without being too focused on it) while having the budget for real action. Its a kids show… but with money tossed into animation, talent, and effort placed into making it good.
Yuushibu was pretty classy but we decided to watch Walkure Romanze instead. The horse rape in the first couple episodes gave us a false impression of how entertaining the show would end up being. For UMD I was really turned off by the art style.
Agreed with StB, it is much better than I ever would have expected from the first couple episodes.
I actually just kind of forgot about Gundam Build Fighters. Maybe I should go and watch it… Probably not enough time though.
Thoughts of anime that I watched:
1. Gundam Build Fighters – The first episode is weak, but the quick and intense buildup, likeable characters and decent battle choreography make it one of the best mechanical toy anime ever.
2. Log Horizon – This is not SAO clone, despite what certain people have claimed. The battles are boring, but the scenery is gorgeous, world building is clearly explained and the songs are catchy. The art is quite rough, though.
3. Kyoukai no Kanata – The art and music looks decent while the character are likeable, but everything else is medicore.
4. Koroshiya-san: The Hired Gun – A low-grade absurd comedy which still managed to be ridiculously amusing.
5. Tokyo Ravens – The art is average and the medicore use of CG makes it even more average. The battles are well animated to the point that I can feel the intensity of the battles.
6. Strike The Blood – A harem series done right where the plot and characters are in balance and the usual perverse elements were toned down. The battles are well animated, too. The OST is terrible, though.
7. Kill La Kill – Despite the hype, it just your average hot blooded shonen with some twists.
8. Kakumeiki Valvrave 2nd Season – It improves upon the first season, but the characters somehow gets worse.
9. Non Non Biyori – I watched it for its healing nature and don’t give a damn about its actual quality.
10. Yowamushi Pedal – Definitely the anime of the season. The infodump enhances the plot, the characters are likable and the art fits the tone. Every episode feels refreshing.
11. Gaist Crusher – Dropped because lack of subs, but despite the first episode being very weak, it has a slow and steady buildup. The main character’s personality resonantes with me too.
12. Saikyou Ginga Ultimate Zero: Battle Spirits – It is a good children’s anime with cute character designs and fun plot, but it is a terrible card game anime with randomly skipping turns and lack of details. Dropped.
Overall, a good season that is very enjoyable. Unpopular opinions, I know.
1. Hmmm. May have to go back and give this a try. Although “best mechanical toy anime ever” is not exactly a stellar endorsement.
2. Agreed. I have my complaints about it, but it is nothing whatsoever like SAO. That’s like saying Walkure Romanze and Blazing Saddles are the same because they both have horses.
4. I’d never even heard of this.
7. EHHHH?!!!!
8. I actually thought the first season was better for Valvrave.
11. Never heard of this one either!
Aside from Kill la Kill I don’t think your opinions are that unusual. At least I mostly agree.
Well and okay I think Yowamushi Pedal is good but anime of the season seems like a stretch.
To me the worst is HUNTERXHUNTER, why….? the director of this anime treats you like you were retarded. Honestly I really thought you were gonna say something about the narrator in this anime, it’s really annoying and the pace of the series gets slower with flashbacks everytime with stuff that just happened minutes before, but asking where are Kurapika and Leorio certainly is not one of my concerns about this show.
Yeah, the slow pace is the most frustrating part. The last episode I watched, the entire thing covered what, ten seconds in real time? I don’t actually care about where Kurapika and Leorio, I just wish we could do get to things happening with characters I’m interested in. Can’t say I’m all that interested in these new guys (especially bubbles and suit) and their fight that has been taking forever to even get started.
I can’t believe you didn’t watch Kyousogiga, it was by leaps and bounds the best anime of the Autumn season.
Yeah, just not my cup of tea.
Appreciating the Valvrave love. Who doesn’t love L-Elf x Haruto?
Nobody, that’s who.
